Vivo is ready to drop its next affordable mid-ranger—the Vivo T4R—on July 31 in India. We’ve now got a clear look at what the phone will bring to the table. Its Flipkart landing page was updated this week, confirming key specs, highlighting features. It also offers a strong hint at its price bracket. And yes, it looks like Vivo is aiming to keep it under ₹20,000 (~$230).
Design, Display, and Performance
Up front, the T4R packs a quad-curved AMOLED display, delivering Full HD+ resolution with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The phone keeps things sleek too, measuring just 7.39mm thick, which is on the slimmer side for devices in this range.
Inside, we find the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, a 4nm chip capable of pushing an AnTuTu score above 750,000, according to Vivo. The phone will be available in a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage options, among other variants. LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.2 storage are expected here.
Camera Hardware That Punches Above Its Price
For photography, Vivo is going with a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor. It will pack OIS and support for 4K video recording. There’s also a 2MP bokeh lens in the rear setup—likely more for background blur than raw detail. On the front, users get a 32MP selfie camera, which also supports 4K recording—a rarity under ₹20K.
Durability Is a Key Selling Point
One standout feature? This isn’t just another good-looking phone. The T4R is IP68/IP69-rated and MIL-STD-810H certified. Vivo says it survived five environmental durability tests, meaning it’s resistant to water, dust, extreme temperatures, and drops. For buyers looking for something rugged without going full rugged-phone, this could hit the sweet spot.
Battery, Charging, and Software
Based on earlier reports and its iQOO sibling (the Z10R), the Vivo T4R packs a 5,700mAh battery with 44W fast charging—a practical setup that should keep it running comfortably for a day and a half or more. It will boot Android 15 with FunTouch OS 15 on top and feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Color options will include Blue and White, and while pricing is yet to be officially confirmed, Vivo has already stated it will retail below ₹20,000.
With strong internals, durability features typically reserved for higher-end phones, and a focus on video capabilities, the Vivo T4R looks like it’s aiming to punch well above its price point. We’ll know the full details by the end of the month.
