Samsung may be getting ready to launch the Galaxy S25 FE earlier than expected. A new report from South Korea suggests the smartphone could be unveiled on September 19. This would be a full week ahead of last year’s Galaxy S24 FE, which was introduced on September 26. While that might not be a huge difference, it still shows Samsung is slightly speeding things up. It’s unclear whether this date refers to the smartphone’s announcement or when it will actually go on sale. For context, the S24 FE hit stores on October 3 last year.
Pricing Expected to Stay Affordable
In South Korea, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to cost under 1 million won. At current exchange rates, that’s about $721 or €620. But the cost of the device may vary in other countries due to taxes and the cost of importation. There are rumours that the price of the device may be identical to the S24 FE.
Familiar Design, Small Changes
The S25 FE will look and feel similar to the S24 FE, with some minor changes. It’s said to measure 161.3 x 76.6 x 7.4 mm and weigh around 190 grams. That makes it a bit shorter, thinner, and lighter than the S24 FE. Even though the body is slimmer, the phone is still water and dust resistant, with an IP68 rating.
Better Selfie Camera and Faster Charging
One of the main upgrades is the front camera. The S25 FE will have a 12MP selfie camera, which should offer better photo quality compared to last year’s model. On the back, it will keep the same triple-camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom and OIS.
The battery capacity is slightly smaller at 4,500 mAh, down from 4,700 mAh in the S24 FE. However, the new model will support faster wired charging at 45W and still allow 15W wireless charging.
Powered by a Newer Chip and Software
According to speculations, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will run on its Exynos 2400 processor. This is a pretty small upgrade relative to the processor on the Galaxy S24 FE. In addition, the S25 FE will come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. From the software perspective, it will incorporate the One UI 8 interface layered over Android 16. These enhancements are not groundbreaking, but the FE remains a non-flagship handset, meaning substantial advancements are not anticipated.
