The countdown to Apple’s September event is on, and the leak train hasn’t slowed. This time, well-known tipster Majin Bu has shared what he claims are screen protectors for the entire iPhone 17 family — and they’re telling a slightly different size story than before. The regular iPhone 17 and its pricier sibling, the 17 Pro, appear to be sharing the same footprint. Both are pegged at 6.3 inches, a tiny bump from last year, but enough to blur the line between “standard” and “Pro” for anyone choosing purely on size.

Then there’s the newcomer: the iPhone 17 Air. At 6.6 inches, it neatly fills the gap between the smaller models and the giant of the group, the 17 Pro Max, which stays put at a 6.9-inch display. In other words, you’ll be picking from four sizes that all sit within a 0.6-inch range — something Apple hasn’t done before.

Rumor has it both the 17 and 17 Air will get 120Hz OLED panels for smoother scrolling, though you might still miss out on ProMotion’s adaptive refresh rate and the battery-friendly Always-On Display. That’s a feature Apple seems intent on keeping locked to its Pro lineup.

It’s a small shuffle in screen real estate, but for buyers weighing price against pocket-friendliness, these subtle changes could make the 2025 lineup trickier — or maybe easier — to choose from. We’ll know soon enough when Apple takes the wraps off in early September.
