Windows 10 October 2018 Update is Now Available


Itā€™s here, Microsoft just announced the official release of theĀ Windows 10 October 2018 update, also known as version 1809. Microsoft has been testing the update to Windows 10 for months with Insiders, and itā€™s now reached a point where itā€™s ready for the public. At its New York event today, Microsoft announced the release of the update.

Windows 10 October 2018 update brings major changes to the OS, including a dark theme for the File Explorer. Other noteworthy features include a new screenshotting tool, Your Phone, and more. The update brings a bunch of visual upgrades throughout the entire operating system, though they are not major by any means.

As far as syncing between devices goes, itā€™s worth noting that the update also will allow you to share your clipboard between PCs.

The October 2018 update will actually start rolling out next week, on Patch Tuesday ā€” thatā€™s the 9th of October. But you should be able toĀ download it manually from here.

Now that Windows 10 October 2018 Update is rolling out, work at Microsoft will now shift towards the next major release. Codenamed 19H1, the update is expected to launch in March 2019. Microsoft has not yet detailed many features of this upcoming update, but the company is holding a Surface and Windows press event today so we should start to hear more about new Windows 10 features very soon.
