Samsung releases the One UI 7 update for another Galaxy smartphone

Samsung has officially started rolling out the One UI 7 update based on Android 15 for the Galaxy F16 in India. This is the first major update for the device, which originally launched with Android 14. The update brings a fresh design, smoother performance, new features, and better security.

First of Six Promised Updates

Samsung has promised six major Android OS updates for the Galaxy F16. One UI 7, based on Android 15, is the first of these. That means F16 users can expect five more major updates in the coming years, with One UI 8 (Android 16) expected later this year.

Update Details

The new update has the firmware version E166PXXU2BYE5 and is about 2.72GB in size. It still uses the April 2025 security patch, not the latest May version.

To install the update:

  • Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install

  • Once downloaded, tap Install now

  • Your phone will restart after installation

What’s New in One UI 7 update?

New Look and Navigation

The UI has been redesigned with separate notification and quick settings panels:

  • Swipe down from the top center for notifications

  • Swipe from the top right for quick settings
    You can also merge them if you prefer the old layout.

Notifications now appear larger and in pill-shaped bubbles, while the Quick Panel is more customizable and includes a volume slider.

Better Animations and Icons

  • Stock app icons look slightly different

  • Animations feel smoother and more playful

  • Charging animation and battery icon have been updated

Lock Screen and Home Screen Upgrades

  • Lock screen clock and home screen widgets are now more customizable

  • Large Folders let you open apps without opening the folder

  • App drawer now scrolls vertically by default

  • Improved landscape mode

Camera and Media

The Camera app has a new layout that’s easier to use with one hand. Zoom and mode selection have improved. The Gallery app now lets you create and edit collages in Stories.

  • New Now Bar shows ongoing activities like navigation, workouts, and media

  • Grouped alarms and shared alarm volume

  • Quick Share and Nearby Devices features have improved

  • New battery health features

  • Smarter Samsung Health, Calendar, and Modes and Routines

  • Add boarding passes to Samsung Wallet quickly

The update makes the Galaxy F16 more powerful, smooth, and future-ready.
