Lighter, thinner, and pricier: Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung appears to be making its Fold series more portable than ever. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to weigh only 216g and measure just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when open—making it Samsung’s lightest and thinnest Fold yet. It will ship in three colors: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Silver Shadow.

The phone features a 6.5-inch outer screen and a large 8-inch inner display. Powering it is Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. Memory options include 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB storage, though a 16GB + 1TB model may also arrive. The 4400mAh battery supports 25W fast charging.

Samsung is also upgrading the camera hardware. The Fold 7 is said to include a 200MP main camera, along with a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide.

A notable change is the price. In India, tipsterĀ Yogesh Brar claims that this device could launch between INR 175,000 and INR 179,000 (~$2,087). This makes it about $300 more expensive than the older Galaxy Z Fold6.

Flip 7 and Flip7 FE aim for broader appeal

Samsung is preparing two clamshell-style models this year. The Flip 7 will be the premium option, while the Flip7 FE is designed as a more affordable version. According to @ArsĆØne Lupin, both phones have a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch main screen. However, the Flip 7 will offer a full-view outer display, while the FE version adopts a folder-shaped cover panel.

The camera setups are identical, each featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide. The Flip 7 appears in multiple colors, including the striking Coral Red, while the Flip 7 FE remains available in black and white.

However, the processors are different. The Flip 7 includes Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, manufactured using a 3-nanometer process. The Flip7 FE uses the Exynos 2400, built with a 4-nanometer process. Battery capacities are 4300mAh and 4000mAh, respectively.

According to a French Magazine, Dealabs, the Flip 7 may start at €1199 for 256GB, while the FE version could begin at €999 for 128GB.Ā All three models are expected to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16.
