Apple is giving iPhone users more ways to personalize their calls. In the sixth beta of iOS 26, the company has quietly added several new ringtone options—specifically, variations of the long-standing default, “Reflection.” For many iPhone owners, Reflection is instantly recognizable. It has been Apple’s go-to ringtone for years, so familiar that it often triggers a quick glance around a room when it plays. Now, there are six new takes on it: Buoyant, Dreamer, Tech, Pop, Reflected, and Surge.
If “Reflected” rings a bell (pun intended), that’s because it isn’t brand new—it’s the same tone labeled “Alt 1” that first appeared in the second iOS 26 beta. The other five are fresh additions designed to offer subtle shifts in style while keeping the familiar Reflection melody.
Not Just Reflection Variants
There’s also a completely separate addition: a new tone called “Little Bird.” It doesn’t follow the Reflection theme, giving users something entirely different if they’re ready to step away from Apple’s signature sound.
Despite these new choices, Apple hasn’t changed the default. Reflection remains the standard ringtone, meaning you’ll have to set one of the new tones manually if you want to hear it when your phone rings.
How to Find the New Ringtones in iOS 26
Once you’ve updated to the latest beta, here’s where to look:
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Sounds & Haptics.
- Tap Ringtone.
- Select Reflection, and you’ll see the new alternate versions right there.
You’ll also find “Little Bird” in the main ringtone list. With these additions, Apple is making small but welcome changes to iPhone personalization—proof that even familiar sounds can be refreshed without losing their identity. However I find it hard to name this… true innovation. Come on Apple, try harder please.
