Honor is gearing up to introduce a new clamshell foldable smartphone. The device will continue the brand's V Flip lineup and, as expected, will arrive as the Honor Magic V Flip 2. Ahead of the launch, the company also confirmed the phone's design and color options. Now, a new leak surfaced and revealed some of the key specifications of the new device.
Honor Magic V Flip 2 Arrives with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 5,500mAh Battery
A tipster confirmed some interesting details about the Honor Magic V Flip 2. For instance, it will feature a 6.82-inch inner flexible LTPO AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display will be a 4-inch Full HD+ LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Just like modern foldable smartphones, we expect the outer display to be fully functional and not only a camera viewfinder or notification display.
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 In Multiple Color Options
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 will feature a 200 MP primary rear camera and a 50 MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone will feature a capable 50MP camera.
Honor was a pioneer in the use of silicon-carbon technology for batteries. For this reason, the brand has been one step ahead of the competition in exploring new technology. That should explain the 5,500 mAh battery inside the smartphone, which is very large for a device with a challenging build. It will also support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Delivers Flagship Performance
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It will be behind other foldables with Snapdragon 8 Elite, but still, it has undeniable flagship performance. The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Magic V Flip 2 will be 6.9mm thin when closed, and 15.5mm when opened. According to the tipster, the device will weigh 204 grams.
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 will go official in China on August 21. The device will sell in four color options, and a limited edition option is also available through a partnership with Prof. Jimmy Choo. We expect more details to be disclosed in the next few days.
