Huawei have just received network approval for another low-cost smartphone this time based on the
design of the wafer thin
Huawei Ascend P6.
The
Huawei Ascend G6 has shown up in leaked documents from
China’s Ministry of Industry where the phone has received it’s
network license. On the surface the
Ascend G6 appears to be nearly identical to the ultra-thin
Ascend P6 but there are a few notable differences between the two models.
Firstly the
Huawei Ascend G6 will be aimed at more price conscious buyers and will actually ship with a similar specification to the
Huawei Honor 3C, including 1GB RAM and
quad-core 1.3Ghz
MT6582 processor.
The display on the
G6 will be a lower resolution 960 x 540 unit and cameras witll be 5 mega-pixel front, 8 mega-pixel rear. The final differences are that
G6 will measure slightly thicker at 7.
5mm and will cost significantly less than the premium
P6 model.
