Huawei Ascend P2 Benchmarks crush our 8-core hopes!

Just yesterday we saw our first glimpse at the Huawei Ascend P2 and discovered rumours that the P2 could be wielding an 8-core CPU! However, recently uncovered benchmarks tell another story.

Of course an 8-core CPU doesn't have to mean super performance, and those extra cores could be used to increase the battery endurance and make the a phone more efficient, but even then we would still be hoping for Antutu scores above those which have been discovered.

According to the Antutu results the Huawei Ascend P2 is running CPU running at 1.5Ghz and scores 16,862. That's around the same as the Newman N2 with a Samsung 4412 quad-core CPU and far from what we hope and 8 core is capable of.

Along with the benchmarks more renderings of the Ascend P2 have been uncovered, but we still don't have any solid evidence as to what this much anticipated Chinese phone will be packing.

I guess we will just have to wait until MWC to find out!
