The
Chinese smartphone world is going
8-core crazy thanks to Mediatek’s MtK6592
processor, the race is now on as to who will
launch first? Could it be
Zopo or
Sony?
Zopo’s second generation Zopo
C2 (possibly named the
ZP1000 for international markets) is one of the hottest talked about
Chinese Android phones at the moment and with
news that it may
launch in Beijing as early as next month rumours are intensifying!
Zopo ZP1000 specifications
Although Zopo haven’t officially released anything about the
8-core MTK6592
phone we have seen a number of leaks and heard from trusted sources as what to expect.
Apparently the Zopo
ZP1000 will be a
5-inch 1080 phone based around an improved, both in styling and quality, Zopo
C2 (ZP980), of course an
8-core MTK6592 chipset will be on board which could be running at as fast as 2Ghz and 2GB RAM sounds about right for this calibre of
phone.

NFC support and 5ghz WIFI are also rumoured as is
Android 4.2.2. The rest of the hardware is similar to the currently ZP980 and
C2 with a front 5 mega-pixel camera and 13 mega-pixel rear.
Sony are also believed to be launching the Sony Tianchi, a 6-inch 720p 8-core phone next month, the race is now on to see who will be first Sony or Zopo?
