Meizu decided its MX-series of phones wasn't high-end enough, which is why the new PRO-series came into being a few weeks back. There's only a PRO 5 for now, but
as we recently reported, there will be a PRO 5 Mini in the future also.
Meizu VP Li Nan has gone on record to acknowledge the existence of a such a device, and has also commented on the timeline as to when the PRO 5 Mini can be expected.
The PRO 5 Mini, as the name suggests, is simply, a mini version of the rather large PRO 5 (it has a 5.7-inch screen). As for the specifications, it's believed to have a MediaTek MT6797 (aka Helio X20) deca-core processor at its disposal with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM along with a 4.7-inch screen with an FHD resolution.
Meizu have always liked having high-end media features on their phones, which is why the PRO 5 Mini is purported to have a 21 mega-pixel camera. Details besides these are scarce for now.
Coming back to Li Nan's comments, he said that the PRO 5 Mini will come in the first half of 2016, which isn't all that far from now.
Are you going to hold out for this mini flagship phone?
