Moto Z3 Play in the US officially gets Android 9 Pie update

Motorola's mid-range smartphone, Moto Z3 Play debuted in the US last June. Currently, the phone is priced at about $500 in the US, but Motorola bundles it with Amazon's Alexa smart speakers for an additional $50. Now, if you have already purchased Moto Z3 Play, then you should be happy because Motorola is launching the long-awaited Android 9 Pie update for Moto Z3 Play. As of now, the United States seems to be the first country to receive the update but it is expected that other countries will receive will follow soon. If you receive a notification message for this update, simply select "Download and Install" or go to Settings / System / System Update.

As for hardware, the Moto Z3 Play uses a 6-inch 2160×1080 resolution AMOLED display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 32/64GB of internal storage. There is an 8MP frontal camera and a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera placed on the back. The battery capacity is 3000mAh and it supports 15W fast charging option. It runs on Android 8.1 out-of-the-box but is now receiving the Android 9 Pie in the US. The fingerprint identification module is placed on the right side of the phone’s middle frame like some Meizu models.
