OnePlus have gone and turned the tables once more as they have just announced the OnePlus One flagship will have
3GB RAM and a
Snapdragon 801 processor!
Originally announced as a Snapdragon 800 phone with 2GB RAM, the
OnePlus One has now been updated to boast
3GB RAM and a 2.5Ghz
Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC processor!
Earlier this year
OnePlus announced that their first phone, the OnePlus One would have a Snapdragon 800 chip as it offered the best performance and would allow the One to launch sooner rather than later. Now Pete Lao, CEO at OnePlus, has cited that a strong relationship with Qualcomm has allowed the team to update the processor and performance to the faster 2.5Ghz 801 with faster 578Mhz GPU.
While updating the chipset would have been enough of a newsflash by itself,
OnePlus have also taken the opportunity to update the phone to
3GB RAM.
These new updates bring the
OnePlus One specifications to sit nicely between the Oppo Find 7a with 2GB RAM and the Find 7 with
3GB RAM but 2k display.
OnePlus will officially launch the OnePlus One at an event held in Beijing on 23rd April 2014.
