It's no
news that
Nvidia are working an all new
CPU to replace the current
Tegra 3, but up until today we didn't have much of a clue about the chip other than it would be a quad core! Luckly someone on the inside
leaked some juicy
details.
Nvidia'a latest
quad-core chip (codenamed Wayne) has just had most of it's secrets
leaked across China's Weibo social network service, where an alleged slide has been posted.
The slide shows off some key features of the Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU such as the familiar quad-core +1 set up, an amazing 72-core graphics chip, and a claimed 20 times increase in power over the current generation Tegra 3.
It is also mentioned that the
Tegra 4 is capable of power screen of 2560 x 1600 at 1080. This could give us a hint at what
Xiaomi are planning with their next generation M3, which is rumoured to be running the latest Nvidia chip when it arrives later next year.
Although we probably won't see
Tegra 4 powered phones and tablet for some months yet, we can still get excited about the type of
tech will launch when it is available, not to mention all those bargain priced
Tegra 3 devices which are sure to come anytime now!
