Forget Huawei—Samsung G Fold Is the Real Foldable Innovation

Samsung is pushing the boundaries of foldable smartphones with its upcoming Galaxy G Fold. Many expected a 2025 release, but fresh leaks suggest it will launch in early 2026, likely in January. Despite pressure from Huawei’s Mate XT, Samsung is prioritizing quality and durability over speed.

The Galaxy G Fold will have a 9.96-inch AMOLED main display, offering a large and immersive screen. When folded, the 6.54-inch outer display makes it easier to use with one hand. Though smaller than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it has a taller shape, improving usability.

Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, which folds outward, Samsung’s tri-fold design folds inward from both sides. This approach protects the screen from damage, making the phone more durable. Huawei’s outward-folding design has shown wear issues, giving Samsung a clear advantage.
