Ainol pounced on the world last year when the
Chinese tablet maker launched the world's first
Android 4.0 ICS
tablet in the form of it's $99
Ainol Novo 7, now they are gearing up to launch an all
new dual-core $139
Jelly Bean tablet called the
Ainol Novo 7 Crystal.
The
Ainol Novo 7 Crystal will continue with Ainol's winning formula of producing high performance 7-inch
Android tablets with the latest Android flavour at extremely competitive prices!
The Crystal is going to feature
Android 4.1
Jelly Bean running on a dual-core Amlogic 8726-M6 Cortex A9 which will be helped along with 1GB
RAM and a tried and tested Mali 400 GPU.
On the
screen front
Ainol are sticking with their favourite size which is 7 inches but is giving the Novo 7 Crystal a high resolution 1,024 x 600 IPS screen, which while noting
new in itself is still a pretty flashy
screen to find on a $139
Android Jelly Bean tablet.
Engadget reporter
Sarah Silbert reports that the
Ainol Novo 7 Crystal will only ship as a Wi-Fi only
tablet but:
there's room for a 3G modem on board
I'm not sure if this means we can add our own aftermarket 3G or if this just means the dual-core Crystal will support a 3G dongle.
Ainol say the
new dual-core Crystal models should be ready to ship and available in stores from the end of September, but given how most
Chinese phone and
tablet manufacturers can't seem to manage to work to schedules don't expect to get a
new Ainol Novo 7 Crystal until early October.
