Very few people really had any idea that
Asus was going to unveil a new and improved next generation
Eee Pad transformer
tablet today, but they jolly well did in a
surprise unveiling!
The next generation EeePad Transformer is called the Prime and may well go on sale before the end of the year!
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Preview!
Asus chairman Jonney Shih pulled the surprise unveiling of his companies new Transformer Prime tablet earlier today an the AsiaD conferance.
The proud CEO showed off the super-thin, 8.3mm transforming tablet/netbook and leaked a little of the Prime's specification.

According to Jonney Shih the Transformer Prime will have a 10.1 inch screen a NVIDA Quad Core CPU, mini HDMI out, USB, SD card reader and the optional removable keyboard.

The Prime, which looks to be modeled on the rather awesome
Asus Zenbook ultrabook laptop is expected to run
Android 4.0 and should be available before the end of the year, but an official release date will be made public at a special event scheduled for Novemeber 9th.
