Xiaomi Ends Android 16 Support for Several Devices

Xiaomi has made its next move clear. A number of its phones — including some recent best-sellers — won’t be moving on to Android 16. Instead, they’ll end their journey with HyperOS 3, a version based on Android 15. It’s the usual end-of-cycle story, but this time it says a lot about where Xiaomi wants to go next.

POCO Phones Reaching the Finish Line

For POCO users, the writing’s on the wall. The following models will stop at Android 15:

POCO F5 5G
POCO F5 Pro
POCO M6 Pro
POCO X6 Neo

Two years of major updates is what POCO normally promises, and that’s exactly what owners are getting. The F5 Pro, for instance, still runs beautifully, but its feature future is now closed. Still, for the price these shipped at, most people will be fine — a stable system matters more than one extra version number.

Redmi Models That Won’t See Android 16

Plenty of Redmi phones are also topping out at HyperOS 3.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 promises smoother motion, lighter visuals, and a touch of Apple-style polish — what the company calls a “liquid-glass” look. The Control Center gets more customization, and animations feel more natural. Rollout is expected to start around September 2025, hitting newer flagships first.
