Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro Released: Smartwatch or Smartband?

We still can’t understand why Xiaomi called this product a fitness tracker (aka smartband) because almost everything on this device resembles a smartwatch. Anyway, we have what we have. At today’s product launch conference, the China-based tech giant took wraps off the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro. Though it belongs to the family of the latest smartband, there is almost nothing in common with the recently-launched Mi Band 7.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro comes with a 1.64-inch square screen. The latter has a screen ratio of 70%. It supports an Always-On-Display screen. It supports intelligent brightness adjustment. Due to an 87.7% larger display area, the watch can display more information.

Plus, there are many colors of straps that adopt a quick-release buckle design.

For the first time, the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro sports a built-in GPS module. Due to it, the watch can accurately record the movement trajectory even without a mobile phone. It also has 117 built-in sports modes and 10 running courses of different intensities.

We are dealing with a full-featured smartwatch. So it’s reasonable to see all-day heart rate monitoring and all-day blood oxygen saturation monitoring features. In addition, this product comes with the usual sleep monitoring function of the Xiaomi Mi Band series. The bracelet can record the sleep time and sleep status every night, and monitor the sporadic naps during the day.

There is no word concerning the watch’s battery capacity. But the manufacturer proves it will last 12 days on a single charge.

As for the rest of the noteworthy features, it supports Xiao Ai voice assistance, NFC, offline payment, has a 5ATM waterproof rating, etc.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro is priced at 399 yuan ($60). You can already place an order for it.

Yes, this is not a standalone smartwatch, but it has tons of features that can be found on classic smartwatches. So maybe Xiaomi just uses the Mi Band moniker to boost sales of this smartwatch, who knows.
