3150mAh Oppo T29 prices drop to $290

It’s easy to get caught up in quad-core CPU’s, huge amounts of RAM and 1080 displays, and while it’s nice to ogle at super phones, sometimes all that is needed is long battery life. That’s where the Oppo T29 comes in.

The Oppo T29 launched last year and grabbed a lot of attention due to the large 3150mAh battery and low-power consuming specs. At the time however the T29 was a little on the expensive side with prices reaching 2,498 Yuan ($400)!

Gizchina News of the week

Bear in mind the Oppo T29 is a dual-core MT6577 phone with 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch display and still runs Android 4.0 ICS, and I’m sure you will agree the original price tag is far too much.

Oppo seems to think so to as they have recently dropped the price to a more affordable 1850 Yuan ($290) which is more in-line with today’s prices, and a bit of a bargain for a phone which boasts 900 minutes of talk time over 3G and 1200 minutes over GSM!

I’ve got 79% battery life on my MTK6577 V1277 which has not been charged for 50 hours, and the battery is only 1700mAh.

I have used Autoruns to stop unneeded processes from starting in the background.
I have mobile data and wi-fi disabled – I don’t need data on my phone when I’m using a computer with internet.
Also, I’m running DX Battery Saver which has adjusted the CPU frequency so that it runs slower when the phone is idle.

Of course if I had data enabled and was using my phone a lot, then I would need to charge the phone daily, and a high capacity battery would certainly help.

I’ve not seen any resellers stock this, you might have to get a Taobao agent to help you buy it.
