Xiaomi Mi3 silicon cases on sale, more clues to what the phone will look like!

So the Xiaomi Mi3 doesn’t appear to be launching in August after all, but the leaks and speculation continues with the arrival of these purported Xiaomi Mi3 silicon cases.

Silicon case manufacturers in China are usually one of the weaker links in the secrecy chain. They have been responsible for leaking the design of both the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini not to mention numerous other smartphone designs and now the Xiaomi Mi3!

Gizchina News of the week

GizChina reader DUDU came across these silicon cases for the the Xiaomi Mi3 while browsing the online e-commerce site DHGate.com. The protective cases available in black, white, pink and blue feature textured rubber corners for improved grip and show off the positioning and shapes of the various features and physical controls on the the next ten Xiaomi phone.

As we can see from the cases the rear of the Mi3 features a similar square camera and LED arrangement as the mid range Xiaomi Mi2A, however it looks as though the rear facing microphone and speakers have been repositioned to be in line with the rear camera to the right of the phone.

A 3.5mm head phone jack is situated in the top, just like the Mi2A and Mi2S as is the space for the USB charger and data cable.

The specification details don’t give us any idea of the size of the Xiaomi Mi3 which is rumoured to have either a 5 inch or 5.5-inch 1080 IGZO display from Sharp.

No Jogo, then they should make a separate Phablet. I want a smartphone & a tablet as two separate entities πŸ™‚

5’5 is still a smartphone, phablet would be after 6′ :)) i think they will make it bigger than just 5′ :)) you’ll see

Actually a phablet is any phone that surpasses the 5″ mark. The first phablet was the galaxy note 1 that measured 5.3″

With you on this! I would actually prefer 4.7″

They should make two versions with the exact same specs, the Xiaomi Mi3 w/ 5.3 inch full HD and Xiaomi Mi3 mini with 4.7 inch HD display but same specs. That would benefit all parties.

            • August 13, 2013

yes it will be very profitable for us but not sure about them, they haven’t made two screen version of the previous Mi’s.. so i doubt it, but i bet it would be 5′ at least πŸ™‚ see the cases..

Yeah, like what ZTE did with the Nubia Z5. The mini looks tempting!

They already have a phone in 4.3″ – 4.7″ category, why make self competitors?

4.7″ is more than adequate for a smartphone, 5″ would be bursting at the seams.

5,3 or 5,5″ but not too”tall like lenovo k900, it looks like tv remote…>o< a bit wider design will make it look not too big, even if the screen size is 5,5", elegant n exclusive design, looks expensive!
