Dual screen Philips W9588 with quad core processor launched

Philips have launched the W9588 with dual 3.5-inch screens and a MediaTek quad-core processor, albeit with (quite) a hefty price tag!

Advertised as a smartphone for professionals, the Philips W9588 features a FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels on either screen, both of which have support for touch input. The device also boasts a metal body and an elegant design, sporting two of the favourite colours for this year – Black and Golden. Under the hood, the phone packs a rather austere 1.2GHz quad-core MT6589 processor along with 1GB of RAM and just 4GB ROM, which clearly shows that Philips are banking on the dual screens to allure prospective buyers.

Gizchina News of the week

The phone features an 8 mega-pixel main camera along with a battery rated at 2,400mAh. The Philips W9588 has been priced 4,999 Yuan or roughly $824.

I’d prefer to buy genuine Japan keitai. At least it’s less expensive than Philips.

Philips doesn’t produce any mobile phones. All activities are sold to China Electronics Corporation (CEC) which produces mobile phones under the Philips brand. Clam shell phones are so 2005 and this one is just as ugly as the Samsung SCHW2013.
