Honor launches the Robot Phone on August 12, however we're one week out and the full spec sheet
has leaked. Most of it we already knew. One detail changed.
The Battery Grew
Earlier leaks put the battery at 6,000mAh. The new figure from tipster
Digital Chat Station is 7,060mAh. That's a meaningful jump. Honor also confirmed 120W wired charging and includes the adapter in the box. So it charges fast too. Not just big.
The Display Is Something Else
The
Robot Phone uses a 6.3-inch LTPO flat panel with a 2640 x 1216 resolution and a peak brightness of 6,800 nits. Six thousand eight hundred nits. That's not a typo. For context, most flagship phones top out between 2,000 and 3,000 nits. Honor is nearly doubling that. An AR anti-reflective film may also be added to keep the screen usable in direct sunlight.
Three In-House Chips Doing Specific Jobs
This is where Honor's ambitions become clearest. The Robot Phone uses three self-developed chips alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The C1 handles RF signal enhancement, the E2 manages power efficiency, and the H1 runs the imaging pipeline for the gimbal camera. That's a lot of custom silicon for one phone. Honor is clearly not doing this halfway.

The Cameras Are the Main Event
The Robot Phone's headline is its robotic gimbal arm. The cameras mounted on it are no afterthought. The main sensor is a 200MP unit with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and 23mm focal length. Alongside it sits a 200MP periscope telephoto with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture, and 2.7x optical zoom.
Dual 200MP sensors. Both on a gimbal. Nobody has done that before.
What This Phone Actually Is
Step back and look at the full picture. A 6,800-nit display. Three proprietary chips. Dual 200MP cameras on a motorized arm. A 7,060mAh battery. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under all of it.
Honor isn't trying to compete with the Galaxy S26 Ultra or the iPhone 18 Pro. It's building something genuinely different. Whether the gimbal arm holds up in daily use — that's the real question. We'll find out August 12.
