The Android 4.4 Kitkat update for the stylish Huawei Ascend P6 is rumoured to have been pushed back to March.
It might not necessarily matter if you are running the latest version of Android OS on your phone, but for some it is something to look forward too, especially when an update was promised and hasn’t yet turned up.
Huawei Ascend P6 owners are currently in this position as Huawei had originally planned to launch the most up to date build of Android for the P6 by the end of January, however the date was missed and now a rumour is circling that March is more likely.

Reasons for the delay a likely due to the use of Huawei’s own Emotion UI which the Huawei Ascend P6 ships with, but this hasn’t been confirmed by Huawei.

I actually do have KitKat running on my P6, albeit the beta version. From my experience though, apart from some minor bugs, the system is pretty stable and runs really smoothly. Gaming also seems to have improved a lot.

Just create a folder called dload on the root of your sd card, download the update file from a website like XDA or Huaweinews, extract the UPDATE.APP file into the dload folder and then go to the software update icon and pick local update. Hope I helped. Also, remember that it’s still in beta so certain things might be unpolished.

Emotion Ui is a bullshit, they copied from apple and speakin about the updates, i’m gonna change the brand for sure . In march it gonna be ready in april…
Its really unfair …how huawei committed for kitkat 4.4 and still not send the updates ..since november 2013
Personally I’m not particularly fond of the EUi as is currently stands I use Nova Launcher. Love the phone though Just wish more people were working on custom ROMs – tried the Kit Kat beta had a few problems with BBC Iplayer and Movie Tube went back to Finless Bob 1.7. I will wait….

I am a Manager for a Electronics Store in Australia and i have this phone love it!! BUT,, to not get this update even after being patient and till waiting is not good ..!! i sold this phone telling customers it would continue with the latest android, i am getting backlash now, Very Very Very Disapointed. poor job Huawei and if you asked me 6 months ago i couldnt say enough good things you lost not only a customer but someone who sells your prodict. scott.jackman@dicksmith.com.au
