MWC: Hands on with the Huawei Ascend G6

Huawei took the design of the popular Huawei Ascend P6, made it a little larger popped in 4G LTE and dropped the price and announced the result as the Huawei Ascend G6. Hands on video here.

The Huawei Ascend G6 is another odd, but not necessarily bad decision, by Huawei this year. What they have done is take the premium Huawei Ascend G6 and change the level of the components to reduce the price, but then added 4G LTE support (something Ascend P6 owners are going to be very envious of!).

Gizchina News of the week

Still the G6 is a great looking low-cost smartphone for anyone in the market for an entry-level 4G LTE device. Specs include a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 resolution display, 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel main camera, and 8GB internal memory.

As you can gather from the specs this is a mid-range phone, but even with a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor and just 1GB RAM the G6 is a snappy little device which didn’t miss a beat.

The size is a great plus for the Huawei Ascend G6. Which so many manufacturers making larger phones it is refreshing to see a big player take the time to produce a quality mid-range device, and with 4G LTE! Huawei could be on to a winner!

More from MWC coming soon, so keep tuned.
