Now that stock of the Octacore JiaYu G4S is settling, Chinese resellers are beginning to offer some interesting deals.
The JiaYu G4S is basically an updated version of last year’s G4 with a new octacore MT6592 processor, Mali 450 GPU and new internal memory options, as anyone following the JiaYu G4S already knows.

I have already receive the phone and is great. The only problem I had was with spemall. I have paid more than 40 $ because they sent me the phone by DHL instead of normal airmail.

They clearly state that expedited shipping will be sent with either DHL, USPS or EMS so you have nothing to blame but yourself.

SpeMall is reliable, i brought mine from them, i already have the phone in my hands now, it runs great till now. it take 4days on the way, and i do not pay any tax. they send the packge to my home

gizchina reviewed jiayu g4 camera months ago, assuming this use the exact same hardware beside the cpu (why wouldn’t they), then it should be still true now.
One would assume that an upgraded ver of the phone features an upgraded version of the camera. Regardles of that – fresh real life camera samples will be more than welcome. This could be a decent offer if the camera is capable of at least somewhat nice photos.
Not really, this has the exact same design as the old one so one would assume they source from the same and now cheap hardware.
Anyone tried the camera on this one – maybe compared to a decent mid-range shooter – like the zp980+?

I have had my hands on the zp980+ but would want to see real world examples photographs from the Jiayu g4s … does not sound so weird now does it ?
I think anyone budget conscious, which is the majority in this site I imagine, who already has zp980+ would not want to buy another phone with slightly inferior spec like this. But hey, worth a shot asking I guess.

They’re one of the better known small chinese manufacturer but hey don’t take my word on it try searching “Jiayu” here or on google.

Hi. I am as confused about this as you seem. Specs seem too good at this price, even compared to other similar spec Chinese phones. That makes me wonder about quality.
There are also some well rated sellers on aliexpress, I can’t use spemall as I can’t get PayPal.

yes they have jiayu g4s in stock but they are so incompetent when it comes to shipping & logistics
their service team member Daly claims that DHL doesn’t accept shipping parcels with batteries
i contacted our local DHL agent . they stated that they accept packages with batteries but it must be declared on a Shipper’s Declaration.
i also provided him with PDF for lithium ion batteries regulations explaining what they need to do so DHL can accept parcel
Daly still insists that i will have to switch to singapore post & pay additional 12usd which is a clear rip-off cause DHL is faster and more reliable
so i asked Daly to cancel my order & i’m waiting for his reply

google is just a search engine but giz china is a review website so if you’re looking for a trusted place to buy chinese phone you go directly to a trusted review website like gizchina & check their recommendations for a place to buy your next phone like i always did in the past with my previous phone that i ordered from Aliexpress without anytrouble
i blame Andi cause when he posts recommendation for a website he usually makes sure that this website is trusted & he tried dealing with it before posting
amd by the way i already asked about DHL availability before placing my order & they confirmed

I´m from Portugal, and I’ve ordered 2 Jiayu G4S last week from SPEMALL. I had to wait for 2 or 3 days because the white one was not available. As soon as everything was ready to be sent, SPEMALL sent them and 4 days (!!) after I was receiving them by DHL in my home. Also with the DHL service I was able to follow all the logistic procedures and to be informed by sms for every detail. Concerning Import fees, I had to pay nothing! So, bottom line: 5 stars!
Concerning the Jiayu G4S octacore. As mentioned, I ordered 2, one black and one white. The white one was as European standards (keyboard, software, apps) – Great!!
The black one came with Chinese Baidu IME keyborad and some more chinese apps. After “digging” Gizchina and Spemall I took some minutes making the changes need (with chinese characters it was not that easy, at least for me). After that, Great, great! I’m really happy.
The black case (in my opinion) has a great feeling when in your hands. It has a rubber feeling. The white one is plastic (also as the pink – I ordered also this extra back cover). The white one has also a little aluminum border all along the phone perimeter.
We have them for near a week now and GIZCHINA REVIEWS are 100% accurate. For near 200$ the Jiayu G4S octa is a great deal.
Oh, and the 3000mha battery is fantastic. In a normal day, using mail services, facebook, browsing, linkedin, installing apps, exploring the new mobile, etc, at the end of the day I had near 40% battery charge left. The morning after I had 39%. Yes, during the night it just used 1%.
Before this phone, I used a SE Xperia MiniPro. The speed of Jiayu 4GS comparing to my old Xperia is like… lightspeed!!! =)

Never buy from spemall, Gizchina might get free phones from them, but Pandawill is always cheaper… Just bought the G4S for 169 dollars and look forward to receiving it!
