Oppo U3 with MT6752 CPU launching 14th Jan

Oppo have revealed that they will officially launch their Oppo U3 with 64bit MT6752 processor a day earlier than the Xiaomi launch.

The Oppo U3 recently received TENAA network approval, where it was also rumoured to be the first phone to boast 4 x optical zoom. While we are skeptical that t is one of the features of the device, we are hopeful that the camera hardware will be one of the highlights of the phone with the rear being a 13 mega-pixel seniors and the front receiving a flash (like the Vivo Xshot).

The U3 is a large phone with a 5.9-inch 1920 x 1080 display, with an attractive design. Oppo seem to finally be addressing the upper and lower bezels of their phones, and we hope to see this design trend on the Oppo Find 9 later this year.

Other details include HIFI audio amplifiers, separate AK4961 audio chip, 2GB RAM and LTE. Pricing and an international launch have not been announced.

This would be great if it was anywhere under $300 in the west. But, it’s Oppo, so I’d expect something like $500.

I would, but Xiaomi don’t make phablets apart from the Redmi Note and I prefer phablets.

if it was a 5 inch smartphone or an 8+ tablet maybe… but that’s a “dumb size” for me, no thanks!
