Zopo have never really been able to keep up with the speed of the Chinese smartphone industry which might explain their newest video and why it looks like it belongs in the past.
There was once a time when we were wowed at videos showing Chinese smartphone torture tests. Seeing phones frozen in blocks of ice, hammering nails and even being set on fire were ‘cool’ once, but that was when it was still hard to find a well made Chinese phone made with premium materials. There was also a time when Zopo were relavent.
This morning Zopo’s PR team sent over the following video link (the video itself was made by reseller Gearbest), and if you choose to waste your time watching it you will quickly realise how lame it actually is.
Gizchina News of the week
It starts off with a brief intro to the Zopo Hero 2, a phone only available online, then moves on to a screen scratch test, cracking two eggs on it, splashing some water on it and then quickly drying it off! Wow colour me impressed…
I don’t know if the video is tragic or if it should set off alarm bells? I mean is Gearbest think throwing an egg at a phone is a good way to test its strength then what does that say about the quality of the Zopo Hero 2?
Anyway perhaps I’m looking two deeply in to this? Perhaps I just need a coffee? Hmm, perhaps I’ll have a couple of eggs from breakfast!
I think “look at that” is an awful phrase…
Eggs are an incredible source of protein. I think there is a hidden message.
Woah it withstands egg smashing torture ! Never seen before , maybe other phones might break in pieces …
Chow Xing Chi could have done this video, it’s so silly.
Too bad it was a real ad, the only point they made was they’re running out of idea.
What is Gizchina trying to prove with these hype videos?
They can get easy clicks with stupid videos like any website ?
Next step : animals closeup with a wide angle lens wearing hats
Fkin pathetic.. spilling and egg throwing ? WTF ? who is going to throw an egg onto phone in regular life ?!?!?
