And the past few days you’ve been playing with the pre installed apps and browsing the web, but now you want more! You really want to see what this tablet (or phone) can do!

It’s time to install the Android market and other awesome Android APK files!

But wait one cotton picking moment! Where’s the Android Market place App, or should we call it Google Play?
Now, before we start with this very, very, super, duper easy install I’m going to give you both the good and bad news.
The good news is that at the end of this post I will give you the download links to both the English Android Market App and the Chinese.
The bad news is you may have to use the Chinese version, but try both to see what happens.
Let’s Get Started

How To Install the Android Market and other APK files to your Android Tablet

Instructions how to install the Android Market

1) go to settings > applications

The first item on the menu says β€˜Unknown Sources: Allow Install of non-Market application’ check the box next to it. A warning will pop up just click β€˜ok’.

2) Still on your tablet head out of the settings and open your browser and head to this web page (this actual web page they one you’re reading)

Here are the links for the .apk files. Choose either the English (it may not work) or Chinese and download from the links below:-

The download should only take a short time. Once completed click on the .apk file you downloaded and choose “install“.

The install should take a few seconds and you will get the option to open it.
Enjoy the market!

The same method will work for any .apk file and will also work if you install from an email attachment.

Possible problems!

If you choose to download and install the English version you may find that the application downloads and install just fine, but then won’t open.

Try turning the device on and off and opening it again. If it still fails to open you will either have to β€˜root’ your device and install a proxy hack OR download the Chinese version. Luckily the popular free apps mostly have English names so it should be easy(ish) to use.

Complete waste of time. The developer’s site does not list android 4.0 support, so I’m not sure why you listed it. The software just keeps prompting if it should try and install the driver over and over. I take it the driver installation fails, but who knows, it never prompts an error message.

Opps. I’m commenting about the wrong article. In response to this article, yes the links are broken. Even if they weren’t if you can’t read Chinese the Chinese version will be useless…

When I go to settings>applications all I get is a list of the apps I have already. Doesn’t give me options to allow install of non-market apps. Kinda frustrating.

    Hi guys,

I bought my device in China. It comes with baidu preinstall and no sign of google.

I thought if I rooted it I would be able to install google services and then google play and etc.

I rooted it but when I run the APK for google services, it installs it and when I go to add an account (I tried both “new account and existing”) it gives me a error message:

“Can’t establish a reliable data connection to the server”

“This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call customer care.”

    Device details: “Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T815C”; Android 5.0.1;

I am using the device only with wifi at the moment. is there anyway to get google services, google play installed in this device? please let me know.

    thank you!
