HDC’s latest knock off Samsung Galaxy S3 phone has caused quite a stir on the internet for being such a great value Samsung Galaxy S3 replica with a great spec and low price, but just how good does it really look? Find out after the jump.
Android-sale.com have just published a bunch of great photos for the new HDC S3 knock off side by side with a genuine Samsung Galaxy S3 Android smartphone.
As you can see from the photo’s below both phones look identical with only a few tell tale signs which differenciate the real phone from the fake.

The rear of the phones being the most different with the real S3 having Samsung branding while the HDC knock off Galaxy S3 has no branding and also gains a holes for speaker.
There are also differences in the placement of buttons and the headphone jack, but over all the two phones are almost identical!

Andi, I just purchased this phone and need help. I want to remove the chinese app market and install the U.S Google Play Store. However, I’ve tried to install and .apk file and it does not work. I assume (because i’m new at this) the phone needs to be rooted. Could you please talk me through the process of rooting the phone. I should note I did successively install Netflix & Facebook with.apk files. I would like to remove the pre-installed bloat ware.
The phones is running the following:
Android 2.3.6
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 s044@s04 #1 Sat Jul 7 18:04 CST2012
Build number: ALPS.GB.MP.V1.10
Custom Build version: V3G.12.07.07
Please help I would like to keep the phone and recommend Chinese phones to my co-workers. However, without U.S Google Play Store I will need to send it back.
Hi Darius, I’ll have to look in to it. You can download apps from google play via your pc and install them that way. I’ll put together a ‘how to’ tonight.
How do I activate wifi on this device. Can i download whatsapp?
Press settings>Wifi
Yes you should be able to download if from the Play store
Maybe there is no wifi module inside. I saw S3 fakes without wifi working when you tip on settings -> wifi

I have this phone but have not been able to get it to work. The wifi and those things work perfectly, but I can’t get the network to work. It recognizes when I put my sim in, but it won’t work. Any ideas?
