Chinese
device maker
S5 are looking to snatch a slice of the
quad-core glory from rivals such as
JiaYu, with their own sleek looking quad-core,
HD Android smartphone, the N0. 1 S5!
No.1 fist came to our attention earlier this year when they launched one of the first real Android powered iPad mini clones. Since then, they have gone back to their roots and have been working on an all new flagship Android
smartphone to take on the likes of the JiaYu
G4.
The only hint of the design is the silhouette outline shown in the image above. From what we can see though the S5 is going to be a slende device with a more rectangular shape than the traditional candy bar style we have been seeing.
One of the standout features for the
No.1 S5 is the 4.8-inch 720p
display. JiaYu have also opted for a lower resolution
display in the 4.7-inch
G4. While the choice might not be attractive to everyone there are certain advantages to a
720 display over a full
1080 unit.
The rest of the hardware is typical of today's MTK
quad-core phones.
2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
As the details are still fresh on the web it's a little early for a firm release date and price, but we suspect No. 1 will be aiming at a 999 Yuan ($160) price point for the S5.
