Nokia Lumia 525 goes on sale in China for just $100!

Nokia Lumia 520’s 1GB RAM avatar, the Lumia 525, is now on sale in China for just ¥629 ($100)!

The Lumia 525 is more or less a Lumia 520 with an extra 512MB RAM thrown in. What’s interesting here is that the phone is priced just $100, which gives local Chinese manufacturers some serious food for thought. Specifications of the phone apart from the change to 1GB RAM remain unchanged. It still comes with a 4-inch WVGA screen, 8GB ROM, 1GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 5 mega-pixel rear camera and a 1430mAh battery. Like other Lumias, it runs the WP8 OS from Microsoft.

Gizchina News of the week

Nokia Lumia 520's 1GB RAM avatar, the Lumia 525, is now on sale in China for just ¥629 ($100)!

It had recently come to fore that low-cost devices including the Lumia 520 and Lumia 521 account for 30% of all Windows Phone devices. With the Lumia 525 getting a price tag of $100, we’re pretty certain there will soon be another member in this list.

Note: Although the picture erroneously reads “520”, the description confirms it is the 525 indeed.
