It has been long rumoured (and
leaked) that
Huawei would
launch the Mediapad
X1 tablet at
MWC, well Chinese E-commerce site seems to have ignored the memos and launced the tablet ahead of schedule.
The
launch of the
Huawei Mediapad
X1 is hardly a surprise, and neither are many of the specification details, but at least we finally know the official hardware of this new 7-inch device
Huawei have been planning for such a long time. The official
launch details, found on Tmall the sister site of Taobao, state the
Huawei Mediapad
X1 has a 7-inch 1920 x 1080
display, weight 239g and measures just 7.18mm thick.
Huawei are boasting a 2.99mm bezel on the
X1 and an industry leading body to screen ratio which sees 80% of the front of the Mediapad
X1 taken up by the
display.
Under the hood, the
Huawei Mediapad
X1 runs a 1.6Ghz quad-core Hisilcon processor, with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, extendable via 32GB micro SD card. A 5000mAh battery is a nice plus on the device and is acutally a full 1000mAh larger than the battery in the similar 7-inch
CoolPad Halo.
Even the
cameras look good with a 5 mega-pixel wide angle 22mm camera taking care of selfie duty and a 13 mega-pixel Sony sensor on the rear with F2.2 aperture. Tmall are selling the
Huawei Mediapad
X1 in China for a great price! Just 1200 Yuan which is around $196! Quite a steal for this type of device.
