GooPhone announce GooPhone i6 iPhone 6 clone ahead of Apple

goophone i6 iphone 6 clone

GooPhone’s boldness has not lost its edge! Today the infamous Chinese clone maker announced that it had already cloned the iPhone 6, the GooPhone i6, and will be releasing the phone in August.

Love them or hate them, GooPhone are here to stay! Quite an amazing achievement considering the brand have been making money by cloning the latest Apple products for the past new years. Since the launch of the iPhone 4, GooPhone have made it their mission to be at the forefront of knock-off smartphones and are always the first to release the latest Apple based clone.

The past few years has actually seen GooPhone release it’s knock-off before Apple have even had a chance to release the rear thing! Both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S were launched as Android powered GooPhone clones before the release of the genuine article.

Gizchina News of the week

With Apple nearing an iPhone 6 launch, GooPhone have again beaten them to it and have already announced they will begin sales of their GooPhone i6 on 1st August. The GooPhone i6 is an Android running smartphone based on alleged iPhone 6 leaks, and dummy phones which have been in the news for months already.

GooPhone have gone for a 4.7-inch IPS display on their clone, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 chipset, 1GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel rear camera. It is belived the phone could have dual SIM support, a micro SD card but it is unlikely to support 4G LTE bands. Pricing is not yet known either, but we guess that prices will be around $150+.

The GooPhone.net website also has knock off HTC and Samsung phones listed too. Will Apple finally get around to suing GooPhone this time around?

Maybe get a Jiayu G5 instead, it still looks very iPhoneish but has better quality and specs.

Wasn’t it ’rounded corners’ that was a big part of Apple’s suit against Samsung?

For beating Apple delivering a decent phone.

They have already tried several times to sue them and lost every time.
Goophone once filed a countersuit claiming Apple copied them which was more out of mockery than anything else.

You must not own a smartphone then…

Virtually every smartphone today is either assembled in China (including those from Samsung and Apple) or is made using parts that were made in China.

Gotta hand it to them, they are fast. Expensive for the hardware, but very good at the copy job considering they launch sooner than other cloners. Why folks bother with clones,I am yet to know.

I know a guy who bought the M8 clone from Goophone and loves it, he wanted the look of the HTC (all metal) but didn’t have an extra $750 lying around for one (we are in Thailand were phone prices are through the roof). Personally I would rather buy something unique and original but I can certainly understand why some do buy clones.

I don’t think paying extra for a certain look on what is otherwise a budget phone is worth it. The lack of performance (read lag) will ruin it. Although on that note their Note 3 clone actually has proper hardware inside,so if I wanted a clone I’d start there.
