Freakbox, the Rockchip powered Android TV box that developers from the FreakTab community put together is now up for pre-order.
The Freakbox was announced for $149, which made the device quite a bit expensive than similarly spec'd TV boxes from China. However, the devs seem to have realized that and and brought the price down by almost a third, to offer the Freakbox for just $103. Take a look at the specs, and you'll realize the Freakbox isn't nearly a bad deal, with all the dev-support that's going to come your way once you purchase the device.

Specifications

  • 1.6GHz quad-core CPU – Rockchip RK3188
  • 2GB RAM
  • Expandable storage
  • 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi with external antenna
  • RJ45 port
  • 3x USB ports
  • HDMI out, 1080p @30fps
