UIMI U5 shows up at TENAA but it’s not a UMi

Take a quick look at the logo and you might be fooled in to thinking this is a new phone from UMi, but look again.

It’s quite common to see clones of well-known phone makers, and clones of Chinese phones. Clones have become such a part of the Chinese tech landscape that many see them as a compliment and even a sign of success.

Looking at the logo of the UIMI U5 it’s clear to see that the manufacturer behind the phone want’s some of UMi’s recent success to rub off on them.

TENAA details of the UIMI U5 state that it comes with a 1.3Ghz MT6732 64 bit processor, LTE, a 5-inch 720p display and 1GB RAM. It’s not clear if UIMI have any intention of releasing the U5 outside of China or not, or what pricing will be, but we expect it to be very competitive.
