Elephone are rumoured to be working on a new flagship phone to compete with the Meizu MX4 Pro and Xiamoi Mi Note devices.

This year Elephone have promised a couple of mid range smartphones running the latest MT6752 LTE processors, but what we didn’t expect from them was a flagship device that would go in direct competition with high-end Meizu and Xiaomi devices.

Gizchina News of the week

While speaking to our source at Elephone today, our insider let slip that the Elephone team are currently working on a new phone that will sport a Mediatek MT6795 chipset, 2K display and 20.7 mega-pixel rear camera. The unnamed phone is being developed to compete with flagship phones and apparently out performs the Meziu MX4 Pro and Xiaomi Mi Note (standard edition).

Our source informed us that a May release date is planned, but as Elephone still haven’t released their P7000 and P8000 phones we won’t hold our breath until June.

elephone the world’s king in software bugs !
ps. want PRO-blems buy elephone !

Jiayu has CRIPPLED / DISABLED the support for FastCharge !
    MediaTek Pump Express™
By cutting typical recharge times by up to 45% !
Pump ExpressTM technology is available in two forms to suit different
battery capacities. Pump ExpressTM is designed for DC wall chargers
with an output of less than 10W (5V), while Pump ExpressTM Plus is for
chargers with an output of 15W or more (up to 12V).

So NOW that i am among the few that tell the TRUE, do notice this that
device companies do really CRIPPLE their devices !
So Jiayu by disabling the MediaTek Pump Express™
    the battery will now
charge not in 2 Hours, but in over 4 ours !
proof: .field public static final MTK_PUMP_EXPRESS_SUPPORT:Z = false

**** Jiayu & the others device companies that delibertate CRIPPLE
    their devices !

Elephone’s track record is pretty poor, may need oxygen while waiting for this!
On the positive side, I feel /hope that Elephone have learnt from their recent mistakes and maybe there’s a chance we’ll see it sooner rather than later.

So is this gonna be released in May, just like the P1000 was gonna be released last October??? That seemed like a promising phone back then whereas not its outdated, can’t help feel the same will happen here… or is this the P1000 updated????

2k display is overkill on any screen smaller than 10 inches, and it drains additional battery. Knowing how poor Elephone’s build quality is I have to wait at least 4-5 months after a model is released and if feedback is good, then it`s a maybe.

I like how Elephone is trying to become a big player.

Too bad their phones are not reliable, good for 3-6 months then dead.
