All-new Xiaomi product line coming April 15th?

xiaomi India

Only one day back did we report about Xiaomi’s plan for their first ever global launch, and it appears now as though there might be more in store for Xiaomi fans this month than just the April 23 launch.

According to a teaser pushed by Xiaomi, the company could be working not only on a new product, but on a completely new product line with the launch, which is (according to the teaser) expected to take place April 15th.

The teaser clearly hints at something like a magnet with the ‘N’ and ‘S’ markings on opposite ends of a bar. Furthermore, the teaser also lists Ninebot, which happens to be a personal transportation robot maker. Keeping the aforementioned factors in mind, Xiaomi could well be eyeing a monowheel launch or the likes.

Of late, Xiaomi has shown interest in being more than just a phone maker — the company is slowly but certainly turning into a lifestyle brand. Xiaomi now has a load of soft toys, phone accessories, smart bulbs, air purifiers and more in its kitty, although most of it doesn’t really come out of China like its phones.

OMG, I just imagined that sometimes in the future they would release Xiaomi branded Vibrator and Dildos. :p

Why did I just imagine that? because it looks like they are starting to make almost everything any modern human being would need.

The air purifier is actually designed and produced by a 3rd party company. (They conveniently put the blame on them after the Balmuda copycat shitstorm hit).
My guess is that these ‘new’ product lines follow the same strategy, Xiaomi brings in the money and the band name, and an existing manufacturer does the rest (Ninebot in this case).
So I guess we can expect to see a Mi Segay clone πŸ˜‰

Existing Ninebot products are not all that cheap. A small Segway like device at 300-500$ and a real effort to market it would be a big deal but there is no point to go there if they can’t reach a pricing that makes em competitive with bikes and electric bikes. Xiaomi doesn’t put much thought into these other products (besides parts quality and design) so i wouldn’t expect much.

I think something like an Airwheel, just cheaper. A transport vehicle. Thats the Xiaomi way.
