First look of the ZUK Z1 gives a nod to high end design and build

zuk z1 render

ZUK bosses have revealed the first partial render of the upcoming flagship phone today, with a nod toward high-end design.

After seeing what a dog’s dinner the OnePlus 2 supposedly looks after the TENAA leaks, we are in dire need of a new flagship phone that looks a little better than a bad photoshop.

It could be that new comer ZUK are the ones to look at with their new ZUK Z1 phone. Very little is known about the appearance of the Z1, but a render posted on Weibo by the companies CEO does give us a few clues.

Gizchina News of the week

At first glimpse the ZUK Z1 looks a little like the Vivo X5Pro with nicely machined alloy chassis and glass rear. The tapered metal chassis seems to meet the rear glass panel at a slight curve suggesting that a 2.5D panel has been used.

The image also reveals a single external speaker in the base of the phone, and shows us the USB Type C plug too.

Our sources in China have also revealed that the ZUK Z1 will have a 4000+mAh battery, 3GB RAM, Qualcomm chipset and 13 mega-pixel main camera. It has also been suggested that Cyanogen have created the ROM for the phone too, but this remains to be seen.

Looks almost like a Galaxy S6 clone from this one picture. That’s not a bad thing as it is one of the better looking phones. Wonder if it will heat up like an S6 too, one of the worst phones when it comes to cooling.

Like a home button and SD810 wasn’t bad enough, now they are making a clone.Way to ruin a new brand from day 1.
Lenovo’s CEO is a smart guy so it’s very disappointing to see that he can’t chose the right people for the job here. He needs someone that understand the market and the product.

Whats exactly is wrong with a home button? You may not like it but there are people out there who would rather have it on their smartphones.

SD810 isnt that bad bro. Try and read reviews of people who are using it. Yup it heats up a lot, but there are some phones out there that people have reported that its not heating much to worry about at all.

There are many things wrong with the home button but i’ve just commented on the issue in another comment (for another article) just minutes ago so not doing it again. The fact that some people might want it,doesn’t mean that it’s a good idea, just that those don’t know any better and that’s fine not everybody is a product designer.
SD810 is horrible, it’s really horrible and claiming otherwise is absurd.

dude if you don’t like to have home button, it doesn’t mean it is bad.
you are right: The fact that some people like you might NOT want it,doesn’t mean that it’s a good idea,
iPhone, Galaxy models….they all have it,and they make more then 90% of market share.

I like a home button. i won’t use the fingerprint scanner since i never lock my phone. but i do prefer a physical button. haven’t had one on my phone in quite some time, but i’m ready to go back

Why is every Chinese phone trying to look like the Iphone 6 or Samsung S6???
Sick and tired of these uninspired designs.

Because Apple sold something like 47 million iPhone 6 in the last quarter to Chinese customers, which is pretty phenomenal, and why everyone else wants a piece of the action.

Now the only thing missing is the price. If it’s reasonable then I’m sold! If it will be officially supported by Cyanogen then bye bye Oneplus 2!

I am not sold on this very nice looking devices anoly for looks and slow performance, i need gaming power!!!
I know we all here have some concerns about the pricing of certain devices. Thats what, maybe drove us here in the firts place, to get better bang for the buck and risk custumer service. Because you have to admit that a lot of the pricing in the big brands is to deal with payroll of hundreds of custumer service, and software optimization for their rather similar devices. i tend to tinhk that if some one gave the programer at Apple Green flag to deal with a doogee DG550 what a beast would come out of there, then again is all in software optimization for 1 specific device, you get my point.

As for myself, i come here to survey for nice devices at a reasonable Price, and for a device that migth end up falling and bricking (i.e. Samsung, IPhone, Htc, LG, Sony, all well over $500.00) i wised up and came to the conclusión this kind of devise shoul not cost me more tan $200.00 as it will evaporate in less tan a year with the current trend and be no longer relevant.

So, I have bought 3 ECOO AURORAs, 2 e04 2gb, for sister and father, and 1 3gb wich is my daily driver….

But Perfect to me WOULD be: on the same looking Aurora device:

    1. Camera with better software to control the camera output, maybe OIS (or not, price wise), 2. LED notification with 2 colors (with White maybe, being able to serve as selfie complement)

    3. 4400+mah Battery,

    4. The SAME place of the fingerprint-reader IN THE FRONT, but increase the size up to a meizu mx5 home button size for it, (i DO like the swaping thing, i feel it is more secure) and 5. An update to the android that would let the backgroung of the appDrawer to be transparent.!!!

ufff what a machine would that be!!!!… and i thit it would be very nice to ask $ 195.99 for it at this times… but that is just my guess.
