Cubot are to release their first smartphone featuring fingerprint scanning hardware, behind a large lens for faster and more accurate unlocking.

Fingerprint scanner are on all types of phones, and Cubot are about to launch their first smartphone with the added security benefit of a sensor. The Cubot S600 will feature a 12mm sensor area on the rear of the phone, that Cubot say will result in faster unlocking speeds and better accuracy.

Gizchina News of the week

Generally it is the resolution of the sensor that ensures accuracy and speed on a scanner, but with a large physical size it would make sense that Cubot have managed to squeeze a higher resolution sensor inside.

Other details include a 2700mah battery and fast charging for a claimed recharge time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. The chipset in the glass and metal body of the Cubot S600 will be a Mediatek MT6735A which should ensure a longer run time.

Cubot are keeping other details under wraps for now, but sources say that a price tag of around $120 is the aim.

i wil say it again (although this one looks rather nice) is there that of a big market for so so phones out there?
do people really want a phone with fingerprint security just because they want to make phone calls???
Get real !!! they want them because they don’t want others to nose around was is not their business (usually raw pictures and videos and files not to be disclosed until later times)

i think is safe to say that the iPhone cloning days are over. (as now this smaller companies are (not all ut many) clueless of what software optimization is, and how to make a good price range and spsecification combo.
last one to try was elephone with the VOWNEY and we all know how that has turn out. hope they shut my mouth up… but until now… UNLIKELY…
