Does it ship from the EU? Shipping costs are like $55/£30 for two of these with power banks….

Is this phone a good value for the money? I am willing to buy it but I see complaints about it. It will be my first android phone after my black berry. I would have preferred a 5.2inch screen but my budget is limited. Redmi Note 3 is very attracting but am scared about its size (handling etc). Thanks in advance!

The 5.5 inch phones aren’t that much bigger compared to a 5.5 inch, it takes less than a day to get used to it. And once you do you will never want to go back. As for the Mi4c it is an excellent value for the money.

Thanks Balco, I have read that the bootloader (no possibility to install other roms on it) is locked on the Redmi Note 3 because of the fingerprint scanner. There is no information that Xiaomi will unlock the bootloader in the future. As a european it is a downside for me, anyway I will think about the Redmi Note 2 and then decide. I think I will get the MI4C even if its design is not premium. All the best Balco!

The design is not premium but the build quality is still very good. It feels very solid and the plastic doesn’t feel like regular plastic because of the coating they used AFAIK.

Thanks for the reply, what would you suggest to me MI4C or Redmi Note 3? Actually the best price for the MI4C is on Banggood website using a coupon.

Mi4c has better chipset (and edge tap, loving it!) and is intended to be the superior device of the two. Redmi note 2 however has fingerprint scanner and is 5.5″. Overall I would say pick whatever size you prefer.

Hi Rick, just tested some phones at a shop. It seems that 5.2 inch is the perfect size for me. I do not have small hands but I think the holding is better with a 5.2″ phone so if I go for the MI4C and add a case cover to protect it then the phone will be wider. Redmi Note 3 has a downside for me, the bootloader is locked and there is no news that Xiaomi will unlock it in the near future. Redmi Note 2 has a lot to offer for the price but I think the MI4C is more premium even if they have similar design.
