The $50 smartphone genre is really taking off this year, and the Bluboo Picasso is set to be the next model taking up the price bracket.

The Picasso features all the usual budget suspects like a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display. and Meiatek MT6580 chipset meaning no LTE support, but there are a few areas where this smartphone out shines the competition.

RAM is 2GB, there is also 16GB internal memory and both the front and rear cameras are 8 mega-pixel.

Bluboo have also paid more attention to the design of their phone too, with a special suspended screen design to help protect the screen, a slim 6mm body and a 3D holographic design on the rear of the phone.

I must admit that looks pretty good for a $50 phone.

Yeah, 2GB and 16GB of storage is a big extra for a phone with this price.

I wish it had an MTK6735 with 4G and presale cost at $60… It would be a great deal. =(

How many simultaneous fingers does it support? Think UMI cut corners there on one of their budget devices. Only supported 2 fingers, as well as not coming with a GPS, proximity sensor or a gyroscope…

You wont find it anywhere for less than $70.

$50 might be the price for the resellers, so add their share and the shipping cost and you get the real price.

As mentioned in earlier report on this device, I asked Bluboo to take my money on their FB page. They got back to me within four hours and promised to PM me when pre-order opens. It was less than 3 years ago that the cheapest 2gb ram device was for sale at $299. https://www.gizchina.com/2013/09/10/newman-k2-review/

I believe Yasir was still looking to buy a phone back then !!

    Bargain in my opinion.
