Xiaomi leads investment of $25 million in Indian Media Company


Xiaomi have revealed today that they have lead investments of $25 million in to India’s Hungama Digital Media Entertainment.

For those of you unfamiliar with Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, the company is India’s largest media entertainment company with partnerships with over 700 content creators and offers over 8000 movies to subscribers.

The deal sees Xiaomi buy in to the media provider along with other investors. The two will work now to bring Hungama’s services to Indian Xiaomi owners, this could mean that future MIUI ROM’s could feature Hungama powered media apps.

Xiaomi launched in India back in 2014 and began making phones in India the following year, now 75% of Xiaomi’s India sales are from Indian made Xiaomi phones.
