            That’s actually a good thing. Hardware companies (especially small ones) should stay in hardware. The community rom of Elephone P8000 (CM12.1) is muuuch better than anything Elephone could do. Double Tap to Wake, no battery bug, Lighting fast Fingertip, snappy performance.

            If a bunch of enthusiasts can do a better rom often better than the ones that big firms make, it tells you quite a bit about the state of Android software. It’s mostly of low quality because there is no proper specialization. Hardware firms also do the software, as if it is some kind of oven or whatever…

            Phones should be like PCs, separate companies to make the hardware and separate ones the software. PC won the battle by doing that, Android phones are losing in profitability because they didn’t understand what Intel and Microsoft did on PCs … a partnership is better than designing everything in-house…

            I Applaud Elephone’s neglect of software. Very few chinese phones have as good software as Elephone’s P8000 as a result …
