Ulefone Vienna will get Android 6.0 update in June

Ulefone has just announced their plans for updating the Ulefone Vienna system to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update is going to be available via OTA, but we will have to wait for it a little while longer.

It’s refreshing to see that Ulefone honestly admitted that they are a bit behind on the schedule and the software development team is not that big. So the proper testing and tweaking is going to take some time so realistically we are going to see the Android 6.0 update in June.

Gizchina News of the week

But as we know already the Marshmallow update is worth the wait, because it will bring better permission management, better security, battery life optimizations providing up to 30 percent longer usage theoretically and even improving the quality of the sound output.

EXACLTY ! im right up there with ya bro !

i have been saying this for some time now … Ulefone , altho not quite there yet , are a fine example and role model to the obscure (bluboo) and childish(damn right , im looking at u Elephone!) phone-makers ! They are STEPPING UP ! FINALLY !

this is what EVERY company and every person should strive for !

that said , Ulefone do need to work out a few kinks like Camera Optimizations (hopefully success of Future and Vienna and Power will prompt them to employ a S/W Engineer who’s a pro at Camera software) , premium phone load out as well as guaranteeing good Quality Control (what does a good quality control cost , btw ?)

im hoping the Be-Touch 4 BLOWS us ALL away with a 2k screen , iphone 7 like Finger print scanner or better yet an ultrasonic one , 6 GB ram , some 24+ Megapixel Dual cams (a 12 , 12 pairing looks good ) with dual tone , PDAF , laser , OIS and 6p Lens from OV , 64/128 GB internal Memory and either SD 820 / 823 OR HELIO x30 , Force Touch , Micro SD (latest version) , 13/16 mpx front cam with dual flash and OIS and a 6000 mAH battery with SLIMMEST possible bezels and NO FREAKING BLACK BORDERS at all !

then we’ll see how Ulefone becomes a darling in the smartphone Arena !

hahah … thats just my Prediction bro. IF that was the Betouch 4 , i would be working my ass off to collect money for purchasing it 😀

If i was the Head Engineer or Hardware Designer at any UnderDog phone maker, i would DEFINITELY bring such ideas to the table !

i sure do hope they start to think about the Grandeur of the Smartphone world like us so they can finally step up the SPECS !

On what basis? This is a pre-update announcement so I will believe it when I see it. Umi´s phones are coming out of the box with Marshmallow and the Touch has already had three updates. Elephone also is featuring Marshmallow on its phones. So Curb Your Enthusiasm!

elephone: vowney,p9000 took forever to come to consumers and the p9000 came with quite some issues i can go on and on about elephones problems/mistakes to many on forums etc to count

umi: has some build quality issues not the worse but its definitely there the touch has the clicking problem with the home button and on release the video camera was horrid, dead pixels of coure umi will have 3 updates because of how buggy and problematic the software was

Bluboo:has some quality issues as well although lately i really havent heard much from them but i put them under ulefone because they havent made any interesting devices lately

my little ranking list isnt based on what OS runs out of the box but just the history of problems and interesting phones

Ulefone: had a terrible history in the betouch line but after the paris complains were less, the ulefone power has marshmellow like they promised although its a beta and they are still finalizing the finished os for OTA

of all the “bottom of the barrel” brands id say ulefone, oukitel and cubot are the best

      Remove Ulefone from that list.

Yea but I would buy those brands entry level phones before I would buy Ulefone, UMi, Bluboo etc.

I’m still unhappy with the mediocre battery performance of my Lenovo K3 Note 🙁

That’s for sure,we’re talking for the smaller oems ranking here.

          April 26, 2016

For the smaller ones I would say:

          Ulefone
          UMi
          Blackview
          InFocus
          Bluboo
          Oukitel
          Doogee
          HomTom
THL (could move up my list when I get my T7)
          Vernee (Still too new)
          Elephone

            April 26, 2016

Why Oukitel is at the bottom of the list? And the liers from Umi are on top? Ok Ulefone no doubt they’re going good, but Umi… I didn’t saw many people complaining about Oukitel phones, they usually make solid devices. Most of the people are happy with the K series.

              April 26, 2016

I used two UMi devices and I liked them both, I used one Oukitel and I wasn’t too impressed. Based on my own experience more than anything.

            April 26, 2016

I agree with your list, except for number two… UMi should be together with Elephone, under Vernee! =P

I am still waiting for the Android 5.1 which was supposed to be delivered with my Betouch 2.

the phone was unusable with stock firmware. Finally there is a custom firmware (cm12.1) and despite making the fingerprint scanner useless at least the phone is usable now.
