Meizu MX6 could cost from $314 maxing out $374

meizu mx6 leak

The next Meizu MX phone is looking likely to cost more than its predecessor did at launch.

When Meizu launched the MX5 it cost 1799 Yuan at launch which was quite a good price considering the well designed alloy body, laser focus and other high-end flagship features.

Well the MX6 sounds like it might cost slightly more as insiders state the might start from 2099 Yuan instead. The increase in price is likely due to a new thinner chassis, higher quality materials and possible new audio features.

meizu mx6

While the base model MX6 could cost 2099 Yuan a model with more RAM and internal memory might cost as much as 2499 Yuan.

Early benchmarks for the MX6 show the phone will have a FHD display, Helio X20 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 12 mega-pixel rear camera. There are also possibilities that the phone will have a 7.55mm chassis, 4000mAh battery and that an Ubuntu powered model could launch in Europe too.

Yeah meizu failed this year in all categories. The pro 6 was particularly disappointing, xiaomi, zuk, zte, oneplus basically everyone has provided phones which seem better especially in camera and processing. Disappointing because i really like meizu, they just seem to have lost their way lately.

Pricer than mi5?! What’s wrong with them?! At least they more likely will borrow from samsung the s7’s camera, which is fairly good… More than everything I hope they REALLY go for a 4000mah battery, otherwise the usual 3000mah battery would be a disappointment…

Still, price and specs are too close to pro6, so maybe they will put a small battery on mx6 so it’ll be as bad ad pro6 in that department, avoiding internal competition… All in all the price would still be too much high compared to competitors, but I don’t believe this rumor at 100% yet: it’s not the first time we see a rumor about an upcoming phone with a price higher than the real final price… Often it’s just a marketing move…

The pro 6 was a let down for many, so now they need to stay into the headlines with new launches, that’s all… That’s not even the first time they do something like that… Does “meizu metal” ring some bells? ?

Meizu Metal made sense to me.
That was a response to Redmi Note 3 and LeTV 1s.

According to Balcobomber the Pro 6 sold like candies, he said over a million of units during the first months.

          That’s why I don’t get it. I still don’t.

I think I’ll never be merciful with the meizu metal: for me it was just a washed out mx5 made out (as you said) for facing other companies that offered similar phones at lower price… And I still think that this wasn’t fair for mx5’s customers, since they basically followed xiaomi’s policy instead of their own, which is something meizu is doing more ofter as time passes by.
And I brought out meizu metal because I think this mx6 is basically the same thing: letv is selling x20/x25 devices for less, and other companies are about to follow, so release something else comes in handy…

About the pro6: meizu has a target of around 25 million phones sell per year, so 1 million is not that much after all…
But, again, it’s not even about the pro6, it’s just meizu’s policy: release as many phones as possible to keep a spot into the headlines…
Mx4, mx4 pro, mx5, pro5, pro6: all of them were so close that the little upgrade over the previous model was hardly worth the money even for a die hard fan!

That’s BS to lower expectations and surprise on the upside at launch, they always do that and nobody should fall for it anymore.
The real question is if it’s 1799CNY or they go lower to1499CNY ad 1799 might be a hard sell.

Never a good sign when marketing starts rolling out reminders of glories long past (see M3 above).
