BLU officially announces the Pure XR

Ah, good old BLU Mobile. For the uninformed, BLU Mobile is a company that rebrands and sells Gionee devices in countries where they’re hard to get, and they remain as the most reliable way to get Gionee devices in the US.

Their latest device is the BLU Pure XR, a rebadged version of the Gionee S8 which they’ve recently teased on their social pages and website. As such, the specifications of the device are pretty much exactly the same.

The Gionee Pure XR comes with a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, MediaTek’s Helio P10 chipset with a 2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 16MP rear camera with phase detection and laser autofocus and LED flash, an 8MP front camera.

Along with that, the device also has a front facing fingerprint scanner, LTE Cat.6 support, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, its dimensions are 154.3 x 74.9 x 7 mm, and it weighs in at a decent 147g.

The BLU Pure XR starts at $299, which isn’t too bad of a price once you get past the Helio P10 processor. What do you think about the BLU Pure XR? Would you buy one at that price? Tell us in the comments below.

The only phones they rebrand are Gionee’s. The other Blu phones (like their Windows phones) are made specifically for them by other Chinese ODM’s.

It’s $150.00 to much. The over priced BLU Pure XR is a low to medium smartphone with a top tier price tag. You can get much better phone for half the cost.

$300USD for a P10 device. Are they serious?
