Vivo X9 Features

In terms of design, the Vivo X9 holds a fairly strong resemblance to a certain fruity company’s own device, and unlike the comparisons made between other somewhat similar phones, this one’s resemblance is almost uncanny.

Pushing that point aside, the device comes in two colors, Gold and Rose Gold. The display on the X9 is a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen with some slim 1.59mm bezels for easy one-handed operation. Powering the X9 is the Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage.

The Vivo X9’s supposed main shooter is a 16MP unit with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, but the main focus is the front facing camera. The X9 has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/2.8″ Sony IMX376 sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel camera for capuring depth information when shooting selfies.

The Vivo X9 will be fueled by a decently sized 3050mAh battery, putting it on equal ground with most current mid-rangers. The device also contains some form of fast charging, though we’re not sure whether it’s a custom solution or an established solution like VOOC or Qualcomm Quick Charge.

The phone measures in at 152.6 x 74 x 6.99 mm and it weighs in at a fairly light 154 grams. It will support 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. Also, unlike it’s fruitier inspiration, the X9 comes with a headphone jack, along with a high quality AKM4376 DAC.

The X9 is priced at 2798 yuan ($406) for the 64GB version and the 128GB version costs 2998 yuan ($435) and is available for pre-order in China from today.

Vivo X9 Plus Features

The Vivo X9 Plus is the X9’s larger, stronger sister device, though in terms of design it still looks exactly like the X9, and by extension it’s inspiration. It’s somewhat frustrating to see, but I digress.

The main differences between the two devices are that the X9 Plus has a larger 5.88-inch Super AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM over the 4GB in the X9, a faster processor and a larger battery. Oh, there’s also a different DAC in there, though this one is much more impressive the X9’s.

As mentioned, the X9 Plus has a faster processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 big.LITTLE octa-core processor, with a combination of a Quad 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 CPU and a Quad 1.44GHz A53 CPU. Graphics are handled by Qualcomm’s Adreno 510 GPU, which also should perform better than the X9’s Adreno 506.

Along with that, there’s the larger 4000mAh battery that supports the same type of quick charging as the 3050mAh unit on the X9, and 2 more gigabytes of RAM. X9 Plus’s DAC is also different, with it having the ES9018 and ES9603 DACs instead.

It will also support 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The dimensions and weight of the X9 Plus have yet to be revealed, though we’ll supposedly get to know more about it in on the 26th of December where they’ll also be unveiling its price.

This is Vivo, so of course they are over priced. Goes without saying. Between these two I would probably lean towards the X9 Plus. Is the Plus a FHD screen or something else?
