Xiaomi Aqara Smart Curtain Controller unveiled, costs 999 Yuan ($145)


Xiaomi added another product under its crowdfunding platform, and after the QiCycle bike for children, announced today the Aqara Smart Curtain Controller, the company’s 81st Mijia product.

This is in fact a motorized window shades and blinds that can be remotely controlled and is currently compatible with Zigbee curtains and blinds. The device relies on Zigbee’s low-power communication protocol and a Mi multi-functional Smart home gateway or Aqara air-conditioning pathway to connect to the smart home network and provide direct connectivity between the curtain and the user. Aqara Smart Curtain Controller

This means that the owner can fully control all the connected curtains in his home, like setting a timer in the Mi app on when they should be open or closed depending on his desires. The Aqara Smart Curtain Controller also comes with a special wireless switch that can be placed on a table, in order to open/close the curtains with a gentle touch. The device comes with a touch start function, such that with just a light pull, the motor starts opening the blinds automatically. It also stops when it encounters a resistance or obstruction while opening or closing.

It’s also ideal for every home thanks to its low operating noise (less than 30dB), its customised window rails and other features such as door and window measurement. It costs 999 Yuan ($145) and it’s currently available on the Mi Home crowdfunding platform in case you’re interested.
